Barco brings color to its CORONIS® family
Barco launches ‘COLOR CORONIS® 2MP’ state-of-the-art medical color LCD display system with full 3D support
RSNA 2003, CHICAGO, IL., USA, 2 December 2003 – Barco is proud to introduce COLOR CORONIS® 2MP, a brand-new member of its successful CORONIS® medical display system family. COLOR CORONIS® 2MP has been engineered to offer outstanding visual performance, allowing the most accurate diagnosis in cutting-edge medical applications, including PACS, ultrasound and orthopedic imaging. The new display system is optimized to display both color and grayscale medical image sets and is fully compatible with advanced modality workstations, including 3D applications.
The new COLOR CORONIS® 2MP comes as a DICOM-out-of-the-box medical display system, combining one or two high-contrast 2MP color LCD displays with built-in COLOR I-GUARD® sensor, an ultra-fast BARCOMED® display controller with full 3D support, MEDICAL® Pro softcopy QA software, display driver and digital cabling.
COLOR CORONIS® 2MP features a 2 MegaPixel (1600 x 1200 resolution) 20.1" color LCD, offering image quality without compromise. To ensure superior diagnostic confidence, the system makes use of Barco’s unique COLOR I-GUARD® technology, featuring a compact, front-mounted sensor, which continuously guards and adjusts luminance output and color consistency of the diagnostic viewing area at the front of the display. The patent pending COLOR I-GUARD® sensor truly sees what you see, thereby ensuring DICOM-consistency over time and across displays. Furthermore, it ensures perfect color matching in dual-head medical applications.
Barco’s COLOR CORONIS® 2MP display system is driven by a new, high-performance BARCOMED® 2MP2CF-3D display controller. It has been designed to support modality workstations and 3D PACS, considered to be the next generation PACS wave. Furthermore, Barco’s display controllers bring exceptional performance to the latest 3D functionality in CT and MRI applications (MIP-MPR-3D).
Like all other CORONIS® display systems, COLOR CORONIS® 2MP is fully PIN-compatible. PIN, Barco’s integrated Product INtelligence, is a revolutionary concept that ensures worry-free diagnostic reading and image distribution by means of “intelligent” medical display technology. Intelligence embedded in Barco’s CORONIS® display systems includes the integrated unique I-GUARD® sensor, which assures continuous and consistent DICOM-compliant viewing and maintains softcopy image quality for optimum diagnostic confidence without the need for manual QA intervention.
