Lauffenmühle chooses Barco process control system for finishing plant
Lauffenmühle GmbH, Lauchringen, Germany, has appointed Barco to install a fully integrated solution for the automation, control and scheduling of its textile finishing plant. Barco’s SedoMaster, ColorMaster and SedoMat management systems will control the fabric dyeing machines and ensure that the fabrics produced meet the most stringent quality criteria.
Lauffenmühle GmbH is a renowned manufacturer of work-wear and leisure fabrics with a turnover of 95 Mill. Euro. In its quest for consistent quality control, Lauffenmühle opted for Barco’s integrated dyeing management solution. Jet type fabric dyeing machines as well as continuous ranges will be linked to Barco’s SedoMaster management system. ColorMaster will handle recipe management and process optimization functions. The dyeing machines will be controlled with SedoMat 5000 controllers, which receive optimized settings from the seamlessly integrated ColorMaster and SedoMaster systems. 
The versatile Sedomat 5000 controller will not only supervise the jet fabric dyeing machines but also the chemical dispenser and the continuous ranges such as a singeing/cold bleaching machine with integrated chemical dispenser and a Küsters Pad-steam range.
All batches are entered in the SedoMaster plan board, which triggers ColorMaster to calculate the recipes and to define the processes. The recipes are visualized on the SedoMaster computer-assisted weighing station for dyestuffs and chemicals or transferred to the chemical dispenser. All consumptions and logged process variables are stored in the SedoMaster relational database and can be visualized in the flexible reporting tool.
