Barco receives an order for 10 Digital Cinema projectors from Kinepolis, Belgium’s leading Cinema Group
Kortrijk, Belgium, November 20, 2003, The technical quality of Digital Cinema projection being a fact, Kinepolis will install 10 of Barco’s D-Cine Premiere projectors in 8 theaters throughout Belgium.
The order, confirming Kinepolis’s reputation as one of the worlds most technologically innovative cinema companies also, at a stroke, places them amongst the industry’s top chains in terms of digital deployment.
Barco is installing its projectors alongside servers from EVS to screen the latest Hollywood digital movie blockbusters, plus HDTV sports and entertainment content provided by the Belgian Euro1080 broadcast company.
In addition, through a pioneering arrangement with Screenvision, Europe’s largest cinema advertising contractor, Kinepolis is now also uniquely placed to display reference quality digital cinema advertising.
The agreement with Barco Digital Cinema also includes the provision of the Barco ‘Alternative Content’ input processors (ACSAR) to enable connection to any source, prerecorded or live, and thus make Kinepolis ready for any future development of its digital screening program.
