Important milestone for Barco’s ISIS main display
Barco delivers initial 600 ISIS 2K x 2K displays on FAA replacement program
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 27 October 2003 – Barco is pleased to announce it has shipped over 600 ISIS 2K x 2K flat panel displays for the Console Reconfiguration and MDM Replacement (CRMR) program. This is an average delivery of over 50 displays per month.
Barco became the display subcontractor to LMTSS (Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions) in August 2002 after ISIS was selected by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to replace the Sony DDM (Data Display Monitor). Lockheed Martin TSS selected Barco’s ISIS LCD displays because of their ease of integration into the existing controller consoles, low lifetime maintenance costs, and high-quality 2048 x 2048 high-resolution LCD panel. The FAA set a goal for Lockheed Martin TSS to have six ARTCC (Air Route Traffic Control Center) sites upgraded in fiscal year 2003. LMTSS completed these six sites ahead of schedule. The ARTCC sites upgraded to date are Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Ft. Worth, Minneapolis, and Albuquerque. The tenth site, Memphis, will also be completed in 2003. The remaining ARTCC upgrade waterfall schedule will continue through 2004 and conclude in 2005.

Moreover, the award of the FAA upgrade program coincided with the addition of a second ISIS production location at Barco’s Duluth, GA facility”
