Barco awarded 7 million Euro contract by Indra for major Spanish ATC system upgrades
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 1 September 2003 – Barco has been awarded a major order of 7 million Euro by Indra, Spain, for the supply of ISIS LCD main displays, Tower Control Displays and graphics controllers. Indra will integrate the ISIS main displays and graphics boards into the ATC operator workstations of Spain’s new en-route center in Gavá, Barcelona. A number of these ISIS displays will also be integrated into various international projects. The delivery of the Tower Control Display units is part of a modernization project for the tower control centers in Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid and Tenerife.
Barco's ISIS 2K x 2K, 28" square flat panel LCD main display has been chosen by Indra for its high-performance image quality, its low lifecycle cost and because it is fully compatible with the de facto ATC standard 20" x 20" square format. Moreover, the 4 MegaPixel ISIS display can easily be integrated into both new and existing Controller Working Positions. Indra has selected Barco's displays because they are specifically designed for this purpose. The LCD tower control displays have a high brightness output and wide dimming range, which allow an optimal setting, both in bright sun and dark night environments. This display guarantees optimum readability at all times.
This new order consolidates Indra’s long-term relationship with Barco and values Barco’s support over the years. Deliveries will start in the course of this year with final shipments to be delivered by April 2004.
