Barco innovates at ITMA 2003

At this year’s ITMA exhibition in Birmingham, Barco introduces its new sensor for polypropylene detection and removal on Schlafhorst Open End spinning machines, an enhanced range of its CYCLOPS on-loom inspection system as well as a new generation of wireless data collection hardware for the WEAVEMASTER and KNITMASTER monitoring systems. These innovations once more illustrate Barco’s expertise in dedicated solutions for weaving, spinning and finishing.

During the 14th International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITMA), which is organized in Birmingham from October 22 till October 29, 2003, Barco will be present with three booths. Hall 9, booth S9-2B will highlight the company’s solutions for weaving, Hall 1, booth SP1-13A illustrates Barco’s spinning solutions, and Hall 8, booth DF8-12A displays the Barco solutions for finishing.

In weaving, Barco emphasizes total quality control. CYCLOPS, the automatic on-loom inspection system, checks the fabric quality during production and stops the loom in case of quality problems.

For gray and finished inspection, QUALIMASTER offers a powerful inspection module that allows extensive quality analysis and fabric classification. Special software for optimized mapping and cutting allows to maximize first quality yield with a minimum number of cut operations. Furthermore, Barco will introduce a new generation of data collection hardware for its WEAVEMASTER and KNITMASTER monitoring systems, allowing wireless communication between the server and the production machines.

In spinning, the main focus will be on Barco’s solutions for detection and elimination of contamination and foreign fibers. In the struggle against contamination, Barco offers a complete range of products including the COTTON SORTER for the blow room, SLIVERWATCH for the draw frames and the ABS FF detector as an extension to its BARCOPROFILE yarn clearer for OE machines.

Barco also developed a new sensor for the detection and removal of polypropylene on Schlafhorst OE machines. Designed as a simple add-on to the standard Corolab® clearer, this extension is from now on available on Schlafhorst open end spinning machines.

Barco Sedo and Treepoint, present their solutions for total quality and process control in the dye house on Booth DF8-12A in Hall 8. Barco Sedo introduces a new member of its well-known family of SEDOMAT dye house controllers, which can all be linked to the SEDOMASTER Dye house management system. The COLORMASTER color matching and recipe management system focuses on recipe development, recipe correction and color communication. Treepoint’s FLEX Dye Liquor Control system checks and corrects the dye liquor prior to use in production.
