Barco unveils 2k Digital Cinema projector at Cinema Expo
Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Following extensive consultation with Exhibition, Barco Digital Cinema this week unveils its D-Cine Premiere DP100 2k resolution projector at Cinema Expo, RAI Center, Amsterdam.
In a radical departure from the traditional form of digital cinema projectors, the DP100 employs a uniquely flexible construction, featuring a fully integrated digital projector head and separate pedestal, to both simplify and enable an exceptional range of installation configurations. Adding to the benefits of the integrated projection head, the D-Cine Premiere projector is equiped with a hermetically sealed optical assembly, a unique DMD™ convergence system and Constant Light Output software to ensure superb performance over time.
To minimize cost-of-ownership, the digital projection head employs a unique modular construction enabling all key projector elements, including the lamp, to be be quickly removed for easy on-site service. In addition, high efficiency air and water-cooling systems maximize the DMD™, reflector and lamp lifetimes.
For the convenience of the operator, all projector controls have been centralized, and placed as close to the port window position as possible. Controls include up to 14 Digital Cinema or Alternative Content display configurations, connectors and 19” rack mount equipment. Local status and diagnostic indication are available on a touch screen panel. Local control is also available via a clearly indicated push button array. Set-up and network control is via Barco’s D-Cine Communicator software.
Based on the latest generation TI m25 DLP Cinema™ technology the DP100 enjoys the benefits of 2048 x 1080 display resolution, 18.000 Cinema lumens light output, a minimum contrast ratio of 1700:1 and DLP Cinema™ ™, CineBlackTM, CinePallete™ and CineLink™ image control.
The advanced D-Cine Premiere DP100 projector will make its first appearance on the Barco Digital Cinema booth, Suite E, Cinema Expo, RAI Holland hall, 24 to 27 June where it will display 2048 and 1920 resolution inputs from EVS and GDC digital cinema servers.
