BARCOPROFILE now available on Sahm take-up winders for industrial yarns
BARCOPROFILE is an optical absolute yarn diameter measurement system for use on rotor spinning machines and air jet texturing machines.
With the help of Georg Sahm GmbH & Co. KG, BARCOPROFILE becomes now available on take-up winders for industrial yarns such as tire cord, dipped and emulsified yarns.
BARCOPROFILE measures the yarn diameter for every millimetre of yarn. The use of optical absolute measurement technology in combination with powerful and dedicated microprocessor software allows following features on a position by position basis :
- on-line defect classification of thick and thin places, knots & splices in the yarn
- detection of long thick and thin yarn caused by bad dipping, missing component,…
- control of overall yarn, twist, dip or emulsified irregularity through CV% analysis
When a position produces off-quality yarn, an alarm is immediately given. Alternative production can be stopped or the package can be doffed. As such BARCOPROFILE reduces second quality yarn or waste significantly, and also substitutes time-consuming laboratory-based spot checks with a 100% on-line real-time quality assurance.

Exception and hitlist reports available on the machine’s central unit provide a sound approach to quality follow-up and preventive maintenance.
Integration into the BARCO SpinMaster central system is also possible.
