Glen Raven orders WeaveMaster & QualiMaster
For its weaving operation in Anderson / SC-USA, Glen Raven placed an order for BARCO's integrated production management system to supervise the weave room with the warp preparation, the On-loom and Off-loom fabric inspection.
The WeaveMaster - QualiMaster system is a Windows based MES system (Manufacturing Execution System) which allows production management to consult production, quality and planning related information.
Glen Raven’s Anderson operation produces fabrics for outdoor products such as boat covers and awnings. The controls on most of Anderson’s looms offer Ethernet connectivity. After successful installations in Europe, this will be BARCO's first Ethernet based WeaveMaster system in the USA.
Other production equipment will be connected with BARCO's DU5P data connection terminal. BARCO has always made sure that the most recent machines and the machines based on a somewhat older technology can be linked to one and the same system. This allows the mill to bring production data from all production machines into one (Oracle) relational database.
For the fabric inspection on the grading frames (Off-Loom inspection) BARCO's Touch screen inspection terminals will be put to use. This will allow producing defect maps for each cloth roll and from the data base quality statistics will become available.
Glen Raven has been a long time BARCO customer. With this new order, 3 BARCO systems will be in operation in their organization.
