University of Nebraska Purchases First Ever DLP™ Cinema Projector in University System

Kennesaw, GA – March 28, 2003 – Barco Digital Cinema is pleased to announce that National Cinema Supply Corporation (NCS), a Barco Digital Cinema dealer, has installed the very first DLP™ Cinema Projector in a university setting at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). UNL purchased a Barco D-Cine DP-40 projector with ASCAR Router & RC 567 remote control system and a Barco SLM G5 DLP™ projector for its Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. The center houses two public theatres. The Joseph H. Cooper Theater, which seats 236 and features the Barco D-Cine DP-40 projector, officially opened on December 10, 2002 with the Midwest premiere of About Schmidt starring Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates. The film’s director Alexander Payne presented the show and held a question and answer session afterwards. The other theatre, which seats 106 and features a Barco SLM G5 DLP™ projector, opened to the public on January 10, 2003.
