BARCO Awarded a $6M Contract From Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems to Supply 20.1” Rugged Flat Panel Displays and Graphics Controllers for the US Navy AN/ SPS-73 Surface Search Radar (SSR) Program
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, March 13, 2003 – BARCO has been awarded a contract by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems of Tewksbury, Mass., USA to deliver a large quantity of displays and graphics controllers as a follow on contract to support the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. These products will be used in conjunction with the Raytheon AN/SPS-73 (V) Radar System. This radar is a class B, X- and S-Band radar used for navigation, surface search and surveillance and other uses. This equipment is used on U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard ships to replace the current navigational radars. The AN/SPS-73 radar has become the standard for navigational radars in the U.S. Navy fleet.
