Barco LED Displays Light Up Geneva International Motor Show

This year’s Geneva International Motor Show features almost three hundred and fifty square meters of Barco’s renowned LED display products.

Kuurne, Belgium – March 6, 2003 – Barco is proud to announce that this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, held in Geneva, Switzerland, March 6 - 16, 2003, will feature approximately 350 square meters of its popular LED display products. Nineteen leading automotive manufacturers, including: Daimler Chrysler, Jaguar, Saab, BMW, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Pirelli, Porsche and Audi have chosen Barco LED displays to showcase their latest state-of-the-art models over the course of the coming ten days.

Recognized for its dedication to product research and development, Barco has long been recognized for the cutting-edge engineering and reliability of its LED product range. The Barco daylight display systems represented at the Geneva International Motor Show are via some of Barco’s worldwide rental partners, including: Creative Technology, Gahrens and Batterman, ICT, ETF, SONO and VPS.

The Barco products present at the show include the renowned indoor ILite 6 mm, ILite 8 mm, and ILite 10 mm range, the outdoor DLite range as well as various large-screen projection set-ups by Opel and Citroen with Barco’s ELM and SLM projectors.

Barco ILite
The Barco ILite indoor display technology combines high brightness with high resolution in a slim, modular package. The intelligent LED-based display solution offers new standards in the video and graphics world. The system offers extremely wide viewing angles and unsurpassed high resolution images. Barco’s ILite comes with a built-in PC, which not only allows the system to configure itself in whatever shape and size, but also enables continuous performance during maintenance or service. This built-in intelligence enables the user to mix several batches of tiles of various runtime ages without image uniformity degradation or to remotely monitor the system. Three versions are currently available: ILite 6, ILite 8 and ILite 10.

BARCO DLite
The DLite range leads the way in the outdoor visual application market. The Barco DLite display offers unmatched picture quality, unlimited scalability, perfectly uniform and seamless images, and unsurpassed reliability. Four versions of the DLite are currently available: DLite 7, DLite 10 and DLite 14.

ELM Series
The ELM R18 Director, based on the ELM platform already renowned for its reliability in its product class, now becomes the first projector to reach brightness levels of 18,000 Lumen while also offering theadded features of seamless switching and high contrast mode. Equipped with an innovative Digital Light Processing (DLPä) sub-system, including high-resolution Digital Mirror Devices (DMDä) and a state-of-the-art optical system, the ELM R18 Director delivers a performance breakthrough for large-screen video projection.

SLM Series
The SLM R8 and G8 Performer platform now offer the market the first projector of this size with brightness levels of 8,000 Lumen, as well as features geared specifically at the rental & staging markets. With high contrast mode and high brightness levels, the SLM Performer platform offers a compact, multi-purpose projection solution that attests to the highest level of product engineering.
