BARCO Signs Multi-Million USD Contract with Agfa-Gevaert N.V. for Medical Display Systems
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM - BarcoView is pleased to announce the signing of a long-term multi-million USD contract with Agfa-Gevaert N.V., Mortsel, Belgium, for the delivery of a full range of Barco Medical 21’ high-resolution greyscale displays, graphics controllers and calibration software. Agfa-Gevaert has taken the initiative to integrate the Barco’s products in its portfolio.
Within the three-year contractual agreement, BarcoView will deliver its complete line of MEDIS solutions, fully integrated medical greyscale display systems, consisting of Barco’s high-resolution MGD medical greyscale displays, high-performance BARCOMED imaging boards and MEDICAL consistency and conformance management software. BarcoView and Agfa-Gevaert have had a long-term relationship through the supply of high-resolution medical displays for Agfa’s IMPAX ultrasound miniPACS application. By expanding its product offering with the Barco MEDIS products, Agfa-Gevaert can take full advantage of having an additional resource for high-resolution medical graphic cards and display components. Barco’s MGD line of 21’ high-resolution greyscale displays has been especially designed for critical medical imaging applications, such as PACS and digital radiology, which require exceptional image quality and accurate greyscale rendering. The displays feature an automatic image conformance and consistency check, the TRUEGREY® and TRUEWHITE® electronic system for unequaled image fidelity and Luminance Uniformity Correction ensuring a uniform dynamic range over the total sur of the image. The BARCOMED imaging boards are PCI-based graphics controllers that feature state-of-the-art technology for reliable and accurate rendering of softcopy images. Barco’s MEDICAL image conformance and consistency management software guarantees perfect image quality over time and across displays. Agfa has already begun receiving deliveries in Europe and deliveries for the USA and South-West Asia are in process.
