BARCO Receives FDA Clearance for CORONIS®, its new 20.8" Medical Greyscale Flat Panel Display System
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM - BARCO is pleased to announce it has received the FDA 510 - (k) approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for CORONIS®, its innovative state-of-the-art 3 MP digital flat panel display system for diagnostic reading. This confirms the recognition the company has gained for its technological expertise in high-resolution image-critical display solutions for clinical and diagnostic viewing applications.
CORONIS® combines one or more 3MP high-bright greyscale flat panel displays, MEDICAL® QA software and a high-performance dual-head imaging board. The integrated unique I-GUARD® sensor allows constantly monitoring and maintaining softcopy image quality for optimum diagnostic confidence. CORONIS® features a 20.8" greyscale flat panel with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and a protective glass cover for perfect image rendering. With its contrast ratio of 600:1 and high luminance (>500cd/m²), the CORONIS® display can be used in dark reading rooms as well as in ambient light environments. CORONIS® 3MP can be used in portrait as well as landscape mode. The integrated I-GUARD® sensor provides continuous image quality and DICOM-consistency without interrupting radiology procedures. Moreover, I-GUARD® eliminates the need for on-site, hands-on QA intervention by radiology technologists or system specialists. In combination with Barco’s MEDICAL® Pro QA software, I-GUARD® provides intervention-free calibration and quality assurance without the need for an external optical sensor.
