BARCO Selected By Kotlin Novator for Antonov
FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL, UK - BarcoView has been awarded a significant contract by KOTLIN NOVATOR (St.-Petersburg, Russia), for the delivery of 26 MFD-6.8/1 Multi-Function Displays to be integrated into the cockpit of the AN-124. The MFD-6.8/1 Split Box units will be used as the Horizontal Situation Display suite on the AN-124 Russian civil aircraft platform.
The MFD-6.8/1 is a Multi-Function, primary flight instrumentation display with a sun-light readable 6” x 8” Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display. Barco delivers the displays both in a single box as well as in a split box configuration, allowing easy integration into space constraint applications. AMLCD technology provides high brightness, excellent contrast and reduced volume with low power consumption. Several bezel options are available allowing the MFD-6.8/1 to fit into various avionics architectures for both new and retrofit aircraft. A unique feature in the BARCO Avionics displays concept, is that the user is free to design and use his own software on the BARCO avionics display platforms. Barco’s flexibility is based upon a modular open system architecture, both for the hardware and software. The final product will be integrated and civil certified by Kotlin Novator, in accordance with AR IAC (Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee) regulations. First deliveries have started in the second quarter of 2002.
