BARCO Expands CORONIS® Family with 1MP, 2MP and 5MP Flat Panel Display Systems
KORTRIJK - BarcoView is proud to announce the launch of its newest 1 MegaPixel, 2 MegaPixel and 5 MegaPixel CORONIS® Flat Panel Display Systems. Building upon its vast expertise in providing high- resolution display solutions for medical imaging, Barco has extended its CORONIS® family and now offers a complete range of PIN-compatible, digital greyscale flat panel display systems, available in 1, 2, 3 and 5 MegaPixel resolutions. The compact, space-saving CORONIS® digital display systems combine the highest diagnostic image quality, consistency, Quality Assurance and lowest cost of ownership.
The Barco CORONIS® display systems bundle one or more high-resolution image-critical LCD displays (1MP, 2MP, 3MP or 5MP) with a high-speed, 10-bit graphics controller and MediCal® QA management software into a compact digital display system. The CORONIS® display systems are PIN-compatible. PIN, Barco’s integrated Product Intelligence, is a revolutionary concept that ensures worry-free diagnostic reading and image distribution by means of “intelligent” medical display technology. Intelligence embedded in Barco’s CORONIS® display systems includes the integrated unique I-GUARD® sensor which assures continuous and consistent DICOM-compliant viewing and maintains softcopy image quality for optimum diagnostic confidence without the need for manual QA intervention.“Many years of experience in all areas of display technology gives us a unique advantage as we continue to expand our LCD product range for all medical imaging applications.” , says Paul Matthijs, General Manager of BarcoView’s Medical Imaging Systems.With the launch of the premium CORONIS® 5MP, Barco’s newest state-of-the-art 21,3” display system, flat panel technology with a resolution of 2048 x 2560 has finally matured and image quality no longer needs to be sacrificed to gain resolution. Coronis® 5MP ensures the same diagnostic confidence as lower resolution systems: wide viewing angle, high contrast ratio and perfect geometry.CORONIS® 1MP is Barco’s entry-level display system for medical viewing. The 18,1” greyscale flat panel display has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and complies with the DICOM/CIE viewing standards: it features correct greyscale tracking over the total luminance range as specified in the ACR/NEMA and DIN standards. Barco’s CORONIS® 2MP offers softcopy performance without compromise. The 20,1” display system’s short response time makes it ideally suited to display moving images with a resolution of 1600 x 1200. Both the CORONIS® 1MP and 2MP LCD displays are also available as stand-alone units with analog input to upgrade existing CRT-based systems.All CORONIS® systems can be used in portrait as well as landscape mode. With their high contrast ratio and luminance, CORONIS® display systems are suitable both for dark reading rooms and ambient light environments. Moreover, they are available in single-, dual- and quad-head configurations.The complete CORONIS® range of Flat Panel Display Systems is already in production and available from September 2002.
