Barco Receives FDA Clearance for CORONIS® Family of Greyscale Flat Panel Display Systems and IMAGETILE® Softcopy Digital Lightbox
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM - Barco is pleased to announce it has received the FDA 510 – (k) approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for CORONIS®, its family of digital flat panel display systems for diagnostic reading. The existing 3MP, FDA-approved display system was recently complemented with 1, 2 and 5 MP systems, which have all been given FDA clearance this January. IMAGETILE® Barco’s 3MP digital lightbox for enterprise-wide image distribution in a softcopy reading environment, also received FDA approval. The clearance once again confirms the recognition Barco has gained for its visualization expertise and technologically advanced visualization solutions for clinical and diagnostic viewing applications.
The Barco CORONIS® display systems bundle one or more high-resolution image-critical LCD displays (1MP, 2MP, 3MP or 5MP) with a high-speed, 10-bit graphics controller and MEDICAL® QA management software into a compact digital display system. All CORONIS® systems can be used in portrait as well as landscape mode. With their high contrast ratio and luminance, CORONIS® display systems are suitable both for dark reading rooms and ambient light environments. The compact, space-saving CORONIS® digital display systems combine the highest diagnostic image quality, consistency, Quality Assurance and lowest cost of ownership.The IMAGETILE® digital lightbox consists of an extremely compact, wall-mounted flat panel display configuration, available in either a dual- (3072 x 2048 pixels) or quad-head (6144 x 2048 pixels) configuration.
