Quince Imaging Expands Projector Fleet with Purchase of new BARCO DLP™ Projection Solutions
Quince Imaging adds more BARCO state-of-the-art displays and stocks one of the largest inventories of the best equipment available.
Kennesaw, GA – August 7, 2002Barco Events announces that Quince Imaging has purchased its DLP™ technology Barco ELM R-18 Director and SLM R-6 projectors. Quince Imaging has provided engineering services and equipment for rental, staging and sales of display systems including the world’s brightest projection systems as well as plasma and direct view (LED) technology for over 24 years. The new Barco DLP™ products will allow Quince Imaging to continue to provide their clients the latest in DLP™ projection technology. With the inclusion of the new BARCO products in their rental and staging inventory, augmenting their already impressive array of 5k, 8k, and 12k projectors, Quince can now fit any projection need from 5,000 lumen LCD and DLP™ to 17,500 lumen DLP™ systems.
Quince Imaging will be employing the Barco ELM R18 and SLM R6 projection systems primarily for their Edge Blended Wide Screen Production applications. The system, which includes Barco’s proprietary Scenergix edge-blending software, allows the client to switch HD sources, computer images and other inputs at 1280 x 1024, sending data to the projectors in their native resolution. This powerful show control platform features external machine control (VTR, DDR, DVD) and the ability to program pre-set and cue sequences, while maintaining flexibility for live production. The system produces seamless background images utilizing the popular PowerPoint architecture. Quince Imaging’s new edge-blending technology offers the highest resolution level in the industry, with the projectors that are perfectly suited to this resolution. The final result of a three projector wide application is an image with an actual resolution of 3328 x 1024 ….over 3.4 million pixels!
“Over the years we have pioneered the use of projection systems for TV back drop applications, nurtured the advent of the continuing growth of HDTV, provided critical computer display for the government and industry, been instrumental in developing standards for the display industry and brought high resolution seamless imagery to the staging community,” stated Scott Williams, COO/CFO Quince Imaging, “We chose the most recent BARCO projectors because their commitment to product excellence enables us to continue to bring unequalled projection results to our wide range of clients.”
Curt Petty, Market Business Manager, Barco Events, stated: “BARCO is excited to have Quince Imaging as a long term partner. They are a leading Nationwide Events company with facilities in Washington, DC, Dallas and Las Vegas and continue to expand upon new markets.”
