Hualong Film Digital Production Co. Ltd. chooses D-Cine Premiere® Projector
Beijing – May 29, 2002
BARCO, world leading developer and manufacturer of large screen projection and graphics display technology, has announced that Hualong Film Digital Production Co. Ltd. has purchased a Barco D-Cine Premiere® DLP Cinema Projector for the company’s digital cinema mastering suite. Hualong’s headquarters in Beijing is one of China’s largest HD mastering, restoration and conversion facilities. Hualong, meaning Chinese dragon, has tested two DLP Cinema Projectors in their digital studio over the past several months. After a thorough evaluation process, Hualong decided to purchase the Barco D-CinePremiere.
“Mr. Huang Yuazu, CEO of Hualong, is a long-standing authority in the Chinese film industry, and a highly respected engineer in the industry in and outside China. He is a tough and knowledgeable critic of digital post equipment performance,” said Phil Chen, BARCO China. “Their endorsement of the D-Cine Premiere® projector carries a lot of weight with the Chinese creative community, and I am very proud that BARCO earned their confidence and respect.” To tell you about Hualong is very easy for me, Wim De Vos of BARCO continues,” At Hualong they are very modest people trying to be the best in their field and for whom the future of the Chinese movie industry and the patron is the most important consideration. Today they are at the center of the digital cinema-arena in China and with an attitude that ensures that they will remain in that position for a long time to come. When visiting Hualong’s facilities, it becomes very clear that the Chinese digital cinema industry and its key players are well on par with leading markets such as the US.
“At Hualong, we have always been early adopters and advocates of new and better mastering technology,” said Mr Huang Yuazu, CEO of Hualong Film Digital Production Co. Ltd., and also chief technical consultant for the China Film Group, “We learned that early adopters must choose the equipment that they invest in wisely. If you test and select it carefully, then you will acquire equipment with the engineering quality and advanced technology to give that equipment longevity. This is what a technology pioneer requires to maximize their early investment. You can’t just consider price. Only the Barco D-CinePremiere DLP Cinema Projector met our tough standards in Quality, Service and Price.”
