Einstein Planetarium first to Showcase Dazzling Barco Projection System to Visit the Universe
Visitors of the Einstein Planetarium at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum – Washington no longer just stare up at the starry skies. “Infinity Express” – a 20 Minute Tour of the Universe, utilizing the newest state-of-the-art technology, zooms them through the solar system, past the Milky Way, to the very edges of the cosmos.
Sky-Skan, Inc., implemented its cutting edge SkyVision planetarium technology for the new “all-dome” digital system and added 6 dual-stacked powerful SkyVision BarcoReality 909 SP high brightness CRT projectors spread over six zones on the 70 foot diameter planetarium dome. This total of 12 BARCO ultra high definition projectors pumps stunning space visualizations across the entire planetarium and creates a sensation of movement for the audience.“To fully immerse the audience” says Steve Savage, president of Sky-Skan “we had to use projectors that deliver large screen images with ultimate visual fidelity and true black levels.
