Sichuan Broadcasting Group Chooses Barco iPresent for Its New Studio
Shanghai, CHINA-September 2010 - Barco, a world-leading provider of visualization and display solutions, proudly announces its cooperation with Sichuan Broadcasting Group (SBG). Barco is to provide SBG with its latest iPresent backdrop walls. With the inclusion of SBG, nearly all of China's provincial SAT-TV stations will be using Barco's backdrop solution.
A large, modern, state-owned media group, SBG operates primarily in radio and TV broadcasting and related fields. The Group has 5 broadcasting channels, 8 TV channels, and several other related subsidiaries – altogether, 4 channels cover Chengdu, Sichuan, the mainland and most of Asia, reaching an audience of billions of people. Following Barco's cooperation with Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC), this new cooperation with SBG is another major Barco collaboration in China's rapidly evolving radio and TV industry.The Barco iPresent walls will be installed in the N1 and N2 studios in SBG's new building. The N1 studio – SBG's largest studio – is used mainly for news programs and it is the production home for several TV programs. This studio will use the 6x2 OV-708 modules iPresent wall. The N2 studio – used especially for news programs – will use the 4x2 OV-708 modules iPresent wall. Based on the DLPTM and Sense 6 technology and the XGA resolution 70-inch dual-lamp backdrop wall system, the OV-708 module is designed especially for 24/7 usage. The incomparable DLP rear-projection system is equipped with dual lamps with hot stand-by capability. The system is reliable, easy to use, and presents excellent image quality. The high-resolution rear-projection modules support 3200K color temperature, which makes it easy to match with the studio lighting.
Barco's iPresent is a complete backdrop solution that consists of specially adapted rear-projection modules combined with a high-performance show controller – broadcasters can use the wall as a high-quality alternative to a traditional onstage video wall or blue screen. iPresent is able to show a multitude of video and graphical windows and produces smooth transitions from one display wall layout to another.
