Barco China awarded ISO 14001 certification for design, manufacture and installation of LED displays

Shanghai, CHINA, 19 June 2009 — Barco, a world leader in visualization and display solutions, is proud to announce that its Global LED Manufacturing Operations was awarded ISO 14001 certification on 7 May 2009. The certification covers the design, manufacture and installation of LED displays, and solidifies the company's environmental awareness and business philosophy to create cost-effective, green and reliable products.

Following up on Barco China's ISO 14001 certification for the company's core business operations past February – which covered offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Beijing Changping, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong – the new manufacture certification brings the company into full compliance with ISO 14001 standards across the board.

ISO certification is awarded by SGS of Switzerland, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. ISO 14001 EMS provides enterprises with guidance on how to manage the environmental aspects of business activities more effectively, while taking into consideration environmental protection, pollution prevention and socio-economic needs. The certification demonstrates Barco China's commitment to the environment.
