Barco appoints Urbain Vandeurzen as director
Kortrijk, Belgium, 30 April 2009 – At the Annual General Meeting of Barco, held on 30 April 2009, Dr. Urbain Vandeurzen was appointed as independent director of the company. The Annual General Meeting also reappointed Mr. Jan P. Oosterveld and Ms. Christina von Wackerbarth as independent directors of the company.

The Annual General Meeting decided to reappoint Mr. Jan P. Oosterveld and Ms. Christina von Wackerbarth, whose mandates as independent director expired on 30 April 2009. Mr. Oosterveld was reappointed for a period of two (2) years, whereas Ms. von Wackerbarth was reappointed for a period of three (3) years. Their mandates will expire at the closing of the General Meetings of 2011 and 2012 respectively.

The Annual General Meeting appointed Dr. Urbain Vandeurzen as independent director for the duration of two (2) years as of the closing of the General Meeting until the closing of the General Meeting of 2011.
Dr. Vandeurzen is Chairman and Managing Director of LMS International nv, a technology company he co-founded in 1980. Under his leadership, LMS grew to a company of over 900 people, with 30 offices worldwide. Over a period of 25 years, the company evolved from a niche company into a world leader in simulation- and test software and in consultancy services for the mechanical industry.
