Barco announces the closing of the divestiture of BarcoVision to Itema

Kortrijk, 30 September, 2008. Barco nv today announces the closing of the divestiture of its division BarcoVision to the Italian Itema Group. This closing follows the approval of this transaction by the antitrust commission of the European Union last August.
The value of the transaction is euro 71.1 million. More information on the impact on Barco’s results will be given with the communication of the company’s third quarter 2008 results on 22 October 2008.As communicated before, the board of directors of Barco will call an extraordinary general shareholders meeting to propose a capital reduction to the amount of approximately euro 70 million. Payment to the shareholders is expected before the end of the first quarter of 2009.
