Barco's medical display systems ready for Windows Vista

SIIM Annual Meeting, Seattle, WA, USA, 15 May 2008 – Medical imaging specialist Barco announced today that its diagnostic display systems are now seamlessly compatible with Microsoft®’s Windows Vista® operating system. For this purpose, Barco developed a new set of drivers for its Nio and Coronis product lines. These drivers enable customers to upgrade to Vista smoothly and without any worries.

Compatibility with Windows Vista® is a very topical subject in today’s technology industry. Unlike most of its competitors, Barco did not rely on graphics cards providers to develop its Vista®-ready solution. Geert Carrein, Director of Product Management at Barco, explains: “Since Barco develops all the display system components itself, including the Vista® drivers, we can provide our customers with a seamless solution for Vista® configurations, even for workstations with mixed 3D color and 2D grayscale displays.”

Barco’s new Vista®-ready drivers will continue to support legacy operating systems as well. The Vista®-compatible systems are immediately available for commercial distribution.
