Barco hits the notes at third Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Barco, Kuurne – Barco, pioneer in innovative and creative LED technology, is proud to announce that over 100,000 of its LEDs lit the stage at this year's Junior Eurovision Song contest in Hasselt, Belgium. A fantastic mixture of ILite 6 LED tiles and MiPIX LED building blocks was designed and installed by Barco rental partner XL Video Belgium.
XL Video Belgium supplied the screens for this event, including a curved video effect banner hanging above the stage that consists of 44 x 6 tiles of Barco ILite 6XP. This is a 120° curved screen with a total viewing angle from approximately 180° with 140 degree viewing angle. XL Video made a special framework for the tiles to be mounted on. There were seven vertical effect banners with a mix of MiPIX and ILite 6XP, which were also mounted on a tailor made framework. Another curved screen, consisting of 40 x 3 tiles of ILite 6XP stood proud in the hall. The 44x6 curved screen was controlled by the Barco Encore Presentation System. The lighting set was designed buy Michiel Mibou.
A live audience of 8500 watched Kseniya Sitnik take the title with the song ‘We Are Together’, at the brand new Ethias Arena. Second place went to Antonio José from Spain and Norway’s Malin in third.
Two host broadcasters, VRT and RTBF successfully organised the event and for the first time Prince Laurent from Belgium attended the show. There were a total of 71 artists from 16 countries who took part in the contest this year.
