Barco brings seamless large-screen high-resolution viewing to the medical imaging workflow
RSNA, CHICAGO, IL, USA, 27 November 2005 - Barco is proud to announce the release of Nio Fusion 4MP, an innovative, high-resolution large-screen color display system specifically designed to bring enhanced flexibility to the medical imaging workflow. For deployment of PACS visualization throughout the hospital or into the Operating Room, Nio Fusion 4MP's 30-inch screen surface gives users ample space to review medical images in full size without compromising on quality. The Nio Fusion 4MP display system seamlessly fuses two portrait 2MP displays into one integrated desktop without a distracting bezel in the middle. Nio Fusion 4MP's 2560x1600 resolution and wide screen format make the choice between a portrait and landscape setup redundant and give users a high degree of desktop flexibility.
Barco's Nio Fusion 4MP is the ideal display solution for viewing multiple PACS images at the same time or for working with large CT data sets throughout the hospital. Thanks to its smart DuoView concept, Nio Fusion 4MP is easily integrated and fully compatible with legacy PACS systems and does not require any additional changes to the PACS configuration. In this DuoView mode, the display is driven by two separate DVI video inputs, offering a seamless, dual-head configuration with a resolution of
2 x 2 megapixel. In addition, the space saving form factor of Nio Fusion 4MP makes it the ideal display for PACS imaging in the Operating Room (OR), as the system is easy to install on a wall or mobile cart. This makes Nio Fusion 4MP the most versatile OR viewing station for the display of all kinds of patient data coming from a wide range of modalities that are connected to the PACS network.
Nio Fusion 4MP is bundled with a high-performance, ATI-powered display controller. Based on PCI Express architecture, Barco's display controller guarantees ultra-fast and smooth image loading, roaming and manipulation in 2D and 3D.
To ensure long-term image confidence, Nio Fusion 4MP features Barco's proprietary Backlight Output Stabilization (BLOS) technology. BLOS guarantees fast power-up and continuously stabilizes the luminance output of the system's backlight. This significantly improves the overall consistency of the display system. To further guarantee consistent image quality, Barco supplies its Nio Fusion 4MP display system DICOM-compliant out of the box, which makes it a true plug and play solution. For local fine-tuning, the system also offers MediCal QAWeb, a user-friendly softcopy QA tool, allowing users to optimize their display system in accordance with DICOM part 14 in a few easy steps.
