Barco demonstrates networked visualization at IFSEC 2005
IFSEC, Birmingham, UK – 16 May 2005 - At IFSEC, Barco will unveil a network visualization showcase to demonstrate how users can create situational awareness within their organization anywhere, anytime with Barco’s network enabled display solutions. Users will be able to compose views with video and data and send these to different visualization points within the organization to provide the appropriate situational update. Barco will demonstrate this innovative solution at IFSEC, UK from May 16-19, 2005 in booth number T96
In this showcase, Barco will bring you the latest innovations in large screen display solutions, integrated and intelligent display options and takes networking a step further. Showcased will be the Barco surveillance networked visualization solution with integrated streaming video decoding, the new 80" display solution with XGA resolution, the Solaris LC40 and the IQ Pro Projectors. iSurveillance may be used in all operational control centers - in both large Collaborative Environments and for Individual Workstations - to integrate the display of information from various different sources and formats. Barco's iSurveillance is designed to provide a real-time collaborative work experience for monitoring, response dispatching/coordination, access/flow control, recording and overall systems control for 24/7 operations.New at IFSEC 2005 and shown for the first time in the UK is the unique 80" personal wall, offering huge technological advances in networked visualization and iSurveillance Solutions. The personal wall represents an immersive and flexible workstation for the control room. Ideal for smaller control rooms where one or two operators need to manage incidents as in security control rooms. The Personal wall has the ability to display multiple feeds, up to 60 simultaneously, and also handle Analogue, Digital and network applications.
It can either be used as individual independent workstations or as a collaborative group of flexible workstations. The latter configuration allows the operators to respond to multiple incidents individually or manage a single incident with multiple operators to cover different perspectives. The personal wall's display size also allows for supervisory overviews by management without interfering with the operator's work.
Also demonstrated with streaming video are the advances in networked visualization and the vast array of new encoder partners that are now interoperable. At IFSEC Barco Global will be highlighting the TransForm SCN RGB encoder unit designed to capture high resolution RGB (computer) outputs for transmission over the IP network. In addition, Barco will highlight interoperability on MPEG-4 and MJPEG with new partners such as Verint’s Smart Access Family of encoders and Axis 24XX Encoders. These new capabilities significantly extend the flexibility of the universal decoder. Having the ability to see many different sources across the network, simultaneously, makes one’s whole operation easier to manage and much more efficient. For example, control room staff no longer have to huddle around a PC or small screen to view situations as they occur, impacting response time and performance. With the network enabled high performance large scale displays from Barco, all information can be viewed in the most ergonomic way.
Barco has technological ownership of design, its solutions are optimized for 24/7 mission critical applications and feature guaranteed servicing and availability of components and support over product lifetime. This leadership in projection technology combined with expertise in the field of mechanical design, wall management software, display wall control systems and extensive project, system and user experience, allows Barco Control Rooms to act as one single partner for each control room project.
Barco Control Rooms has been a trusted supplier to over 1000 industry leading companies worldwide like The Welsh Assembly, Highways Quinton, Canary Warf, NCP Manchester and Wigan County Council.
