Barco's DICOM THEATER Pro first ever medical projection system to receive FDA 510(k) clearance
ECR, VIENNA, AUSTRIA, 4 March 2005 – Barco announced today that its medical grade projection system DICOM THEATER Pro has received FDA 510(k) clearance. With this first ever approval for a large screen medical projection system, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirms the superb, DICOM-compliant image quality of DICOM THEATER Pro.
Barco’s DICOM THEATER Pro is the world's first large screen projection system for medical imaging. Contrary to standard projectors, which are not designed to reproduce grayscale images from a PACS network, DICOM THEATER Pro accurately displays the full medical details of the acquired images.
