Barco together with Showvis frame Ellen's MacArthurs Return
Barco Ltd Reading is delighted to report that Ellen MacArthur’s victorious return was captured on a LED screen of DLite7.
Supplied by ShowViz, the record breaking, Ellen MacArthur gave her home coming speech in Falmouth against the backdrop of the LED screen and was shown around the world. Ellen MacArthur has secured a place in history for sailing around the world single handedly in record time.The occasion required everyone involved to be available from 5.30am in the morning to past midnight throughout the last few days leading to Ellen’s arrival but nothing could prepare Barco, ShowViz Ltd or Ellen for the onslaught of well-wishers that arrived to welcome her home. The massive flotilla of craft ranging from ships to launches and dinghies to canoes was a memorable sight to behold, and was filmed and linked back live to the Barco Dlite7 screen for the huge crowd of Ellen’s supporters to enjoy.
The giant 22sqm Barco DLite7 screen was positioned outside the National Maritime Museum at Port Pendennis in Falmouth. The ShowViz team worked closely with The Event TV Company, who provided continuous feed to the screen and broadcast a two and a half hour live webcast to the world prior to Ellen’s first steps on terra-firma in 71 days.
