Barco completes its offering of FDA 510(k) approved solutions for digital mammography imaging with the advanced CORONIS 5MP
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 14 February 2005 – Barco is pleased to announce that its advanced CORONIS 5MP display system has received FDA 510(k) approval for use in digital mammography applications. The approval denotes that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has officially cleared the device for review and analysis of digital mammography images. With this latest clearance, the company completes its offering of high-grade, FDA approved display systems for digital mammography applications and confirms its leading position in this very demanding market.
"This FDA 510(k) approval for mammography also applies to units already installed in the field, provided that the recommended quality control procedures are followed. Because of this, customers who are already using a CORONIS 5MP display system can now view digital mammography images on those workstations as well", he adds.
