Barco's ISIS main display selected by the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration
Barco signs a frame agreement and receives first orders for ISIS flat panel main displays from Swedish Civil Aviation Administration
ATC MAASTRICHT, 1 February 2005 – Barco has signed a multi-million Euro frame agreement with the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (Luftfartsverket) for the delivery of over 80 ISIS main displays. The 28-inch flat-panel displays will be used by Luftfartsverket to replace the ageing CRT displays in the Eurocat 2000 E systems installed at the Stockholm-Arlanda and Malmö-Sturup control centers. With this new agreement, Barco further strengthens its position as the leading supplier of operational display components in the air traffic management market.
Luftfartsverket (LFV) selected the ISIS display after a competitive tendering process in late 2004. Key to LFV’s decision to select the ISIS was Barco’s ability to support LFV’s demanding delivery requirement. In addition, LFV was very satisfied with the ISIS high quality 2048 x 2048 image, low maintenance costs and ease of integration in the existing Eurocat 2000 E system. These qualities have made ISIS the world’s leading square display for system integrators and air navigation service providers, both in new installations and as a direct replacement for the Sony DDM CRT display.
