Barco will equip the congress hall and the conference rooms with the innovative iQ Pro network centric projector series.

Kortrijk, Belgium, 26 January, 2005 – The World Economic Forum, the foremost global organization encouraging partnerships of business, political, intellectual and other leaders of society committed to improving the state of the world, will hold its 35th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland from 26 to 30 January 2005. Barco is proud to be a Strategic Partner of the World Economic Forum since 1998; Barco has been a member of the World Economic Forum since 1986.

Under the theme “Taking responsibility for tough choices” the Annual Meeting program will provide the framework and tools to master the tough issues. The program themes, global agenda, business, science & technology and values, arts & culture will reflect aspects of “taking responsibility for tough choices”. About half of the sessions address the many aspects of the global agenda with a special emphasis on twelve issues, labeled the “Tough Issues”. These are: China, Climate Change, Equitable Globalization, Europe, Global Economy, Global Governance, Islam, Middle East, Poverty, United States Leadership, Weapons of Mass Destruction and World Trade.

At this year’s Annual Meeting, Barco will equip the congress hall, the conference rooms and the Executive’s lounge with a total of 14 network centric visualization solutions. These innovative iQ Pro projectors, offering high brightness and high resolution, have a built-in display server and will be connected to the local secured network. This will enable the service people to perform remote control & diagnostics and suit as such the typical presentation and conference needs requested by the WEF. Malte Godbersen, Director of Knowledge Management at WEF, states "Barco as a strategic partner to the World Economic Forum provides "state of the art" projection services to the Annual Meeting 2005 in Davos. With Barco’s networked solutions we will be able to switch presentations more smoothly and to react faster in case of unforeseen problems."

Barco's iQ Pro projector is the first projector on the market which includes a powerful computer processing server for full networking capability and truly wireless presentations. The iQ Pro displays up to 3 source windows simultaneously, thanks to its advanced picture-in-picture functionality. Its built-in switcher makes seamless source switching a snap. Barco's innovative dual-lamp system guarantees optimal reliability: the light will never go out during your presentation.
The iQ Pro R500 networked LCD projector has SXGA+ resolution and delivers a brightness level of 5,000 ANSI lumens, making it the smart projector choice for compelling presentations in any venue, from brightly lit boardrooms to larger conference centers.
