Barco appoints new business manager for Presentation group in North America
Kennesaw, GA, September 2004 – Barco Visual Solutions, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dirk Quartemont as Director of Sales and Market Business Manager for its Presentation group, which provides intelligent product solutions to the corporate, government, entertainment, higher-education and worship markets.
Dirk Quartemont has over 20 years’ experience in the broadcast, IT and telecommunications industry, including business development, sales, marketing, engineering and video production. Quartemont most recently managed the sales and marketing team for the Barco Presentation group in Karlsruhe, Germany. Prior to joining Barco, he successfully managed his own audio visual consulting company, MTC, which provided creative solutions for managing media production companies.Services provided by MTC included studio design, crew management systems and solutions for both the business and creative aspects of video production. Among the many impressive projects managed while at MTC, Quartemont was chosen as executive producer for World Vision in the “Pavilion of Hope” at the World Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany.
Other positions held by Quartemont before MTC were with Heuvelman Germany, Sony Germany, Filmhaus in Munich and American Community Television Association (ACTA) in Bonn. “We are very fortunate to have an American with such a rich international background in video and IT” says Dave Scott, President Barco North America. “His background and wealth of experience in the world of video, broadcast solutions and networked systems will strengthen our ability to provide creative solutions for our American-based customers in the presentation marketplace”.
In the position of Director of Sales and Market Business Manager, Quartemont will report directly to Scott and be responsible for overseeing all sales, marketing and business development activities in the North American region for the Barco Presentation group.
