Barco receives 10 million dollar follow-on order from Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions for the upgrade of 20 en-route centers of the Federal Aviation Administration
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 31 August 2004 – Barco has received a 10 million dollar follow-on order from Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions (LMTSS), Rockville, MD, USA, for the delivery of ISISTM flat panel displays. The order is part of the larger Console Reconfiguration and Replacement Program, which involves the replacement of approximately 1500 aging Sony displays in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) en-route centers across the US. Barco’s prompt deliveries in the program have supported Lockheed Martin in completing the FAA program milestones ahead of schedule.
Barco was selected by Lockheed Martin in August 2002 after the ISISTM was accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to replace the Sony CRT displays. To date, 14 Air Route Traffic Control Center sites are operating with approximately 900 ISISTM displays. The remaining upgrade waterfall schedule will continue through 2004 and concludes in 2005. The new follow-on order is part of this successful continuation.Lockheed Martin chose Barco’s ISISTM for its ease of integration into the existing controller consoles, low lifetime maintenance costs, high-quality, high-resolution LCD panel and enhanced user comfort.
