Fabricato-Tejicondor equips plants with Barco dye management systems
The Fabricato group, a reference in textiles in Colombia, recently awarded a contract for the automation of its dye houses. Barco’s SEDOMAT and SEDOMASTER offer a versatile management system, integrating the different machines and systems of the dye houses. Plants involved are the Pantex site in Medellin and the Riotex site in Rio Negro.
At the Pantex yarn dye plant several SEDOMAT controllers were already in use, a positive experience that encouraged Fabricato-Tejicondor to equip the whole facility with Barco controllers. The existing SM1500 controllers in the yarn dye department will be upgraded to the latest stand and all machines will be centrally managed with the SEDOMASTER management system. The same central computer system will be managing the piece dye department, which will be equipped with SM5000 controllers and remote Input/Output (I/O).
The Riotex plant will be fully upgraded with SM5000 controllers and remote I/O in yarn and piece dyeing. Also the dispensing of chemicals and the color kitchen will be controlled. Process optimization and quality control will be covered with Barco’s COLORMASTER system. In this site alone, 52 controllers will be connected.
The size of this project and the customer’s desire to integrate different machines and systems, requires a high level of versatility in the management system. SEDOMASTER‘s flexibility in standard modules like plan board, editors and production monitoring was key in the decision to select Barco. What’s more, the theory of smooth connection towards dispensing, recipe management and color matching, proves to be working in practice in several plants.
Implementation of the project, covering engineering, installation and service, is in the hands of Barco’s local representative Comtitronic. Barco is happy to add Fabricato to its growing reference list of dye house management systems in Latin America.
