Barco launches OPScenter components toolset for operational systems
Kortrijk, Belgium / Bremen, Germany, 16 December 2003 – Barco is pleased to announce the introduction of OPScenter, a complete set of tools and components for operational systems to be used in Air Traffic Control (ATC), Vessel Traffic Service (VTS), Coastal Surveillance (CSS), and Command & Control (C&C) applications. Barco’s new OPScenter toolset offers readily available and thoroughly tested modules for a wide range of operational domains. OPScenter will allow customers to focus on their core business.
OPScenter is Barco’s answer to the growing demand for reliable commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions that meet the increasingly challenging operational requirements of air and vessel traffic control. In order to keep the time to market short and the budget balanced, integrators and end users are looking for flexible solutions that can easily be integrated into existing systems. OPScenter is Barco’s solution to meet this challenge.OPScenter was engineered to be extremely flexible and easy to integrate. The available modules include processing of radar data and radar input signals, electronic strip handling, system management, recording and playback and situational display software with radar, communication and RDP/FDP interfaces. All OPScenter components have standardized interfaces that allow any combination of OPScenter components and also any combination of OPScenter with third party components, if desired.
The new OPScenter concept is the result of Baro Orthogon’s in-depth experience in the traffic management market place. Barco Orthogon, which is part of the BarcoView division, has developed mission-critical display systems for more than fifteen years and has successfully completed numerous projects and programs throughout the world. Over the years, Barco Orthogon has gained extensive experience beyond the basic display application and has enhanced its offerings to cover all relevant processes from sensor to display.
