ODSfAir is an integrated display system for tower, approach, and area controllers.
It is a turn-key system based upon COTS software and hardware. ODSfAir includes radar, communication, and RDP/FDP interfaces, as well as communication and display-servers. It is the ideal display system for airports and small or medium-sized air traffic control centres.ODSfAir is also ideally suited as a fallback system for a controller working position (CWP).ODSfAir supports standard interfaces such as ASTERIX, ARTAS, RMCDE or proprietory interfaces such as Aircat 500 and can be easily integrated into a given network infrastructure. For instance, when ASTERIX data is available on the network, it only takes a few hours to integrate an ODSfAir display with the radar data. If non-standard radar data messages are available, a defined and straightforward engineering process can integrate the display within a couple of days.ODSfAir is based on the ODS Toolbox, another state-of-the-art COTS product from Orthogon. This development tool for display systems offers the utmost flexibility in configuring the ODSfAir system, the controller-machine interface, and the system functionality. The ODS Toolbox is used world-wide by all major system integrators, numerous CAAs, and ATC research organisations.ODSfAir is a lean, portable, and ready-to-use software system that runs on all UNIX platforms and on MS-Windows on demand. The system is fully compliant with Eurocontrol's COPS/CWP requirements and of course supports ODID IV principles.ODSfAir can additionally display raw radar for approach or ground movement applications.ODSfAir is ideally suited to display sequencing information from Orthogon's OSYRIS approach sequencing tool.
